This Is The Life

Our first camping trip as a family. I will make a camping post as soon as I get back to a computer.

Life In the Fast Lane

Life seems to be passing before my very eyes lately. It feels like we just left Missouri and just found out we were pregnant again and it surely doesn’t seem like 21 months have passed since Emilie entered this world. Yet here we are, finally settled in Michigan with a quickly transforming toddler and just 2 and a half months away from becoming parents of two instead of one. When you sit down and think about it, life really does pass before your eyes. Sometimes, just for a moment, I wish it would slow down a bit.

Emilie turned 21 months old on the 17th of May. I cannot believe in 3 short months she’ll be turning 2 but I am so amazed at the little toddler she’s become. She’s very independent these days and expects to do everything on her own and becomes very frustrated when she cant. We got rid of the binky about a month ago and I can see a definite change in her speech. She’s talking a bit more lately but still not saying to awful much. She just recently got into books and loves when you read to her. I am thankful everyday that I have the opportunity to stay at home with her and watch her grow. She amazes me daily.

Cody is still adjusting to live outside the military. It’s a big change but he’s really adjusting well. He’s 6 months away from graduating from the local community college and then he’ll transfer to a nearby university to get his bachelors degree. I am so proud of him and all the hard work he puts into this family. I really don’t know what we’d do without him. We are lucky to have him in our lives!

I’m doing pretty good. This pregnancy has taken a toll on me. Besides a bit of high blood pressure, my pregnancy with Emilie was a breeze. Yes, it was hot and miserable in Missouri and she was up in my rib cage a lot (which hurt) but I never experienced anything like I have this time around. Maybe it’s because we are having a boy this time but if this is an indication of how he’s going to be once he’s bigger we are in trouble. Haha!! I had morning sickness the first 4 months of this pregnancy and the moment that went away I started having back pain. Sometimes the middle of my back burns and other times my entire leg goes numb. The doctor said that Sullivan is sitting on a nerve in my back and that besides a heating pad and some physical therapy, nothing’s really going to help and I’ll have to ride it out…..for about 12 more weeks. Haha!

All in all we are doing really good. We are loving being back in Michigan and so close to family. For the first time in years we are able to spend holidays with the ones we love and Emilie (and Sullivan) will get to grow up with their cousins and grand parents. Tomorrow is my 28 week high risk ultrasound (with a promised 3D sneak peek) and then we are headed south to spend the weekend camping with family! Life is good 🙂

I’m New Around Here

Well I did it. I made the plunge that so many others are making. I left blogger and joined wordpress. I’ll decided later if I like it better or not. For now I’m more annoyed that I don’t know what I’m doing then enjoying it.

For those who didn’t follow my blog on blogger here’s a little about my Sweet Little Family.
– My name is Malynda.
– My husband’s name is Cody.
– We have a 21 month old daughter named Emilie.
– We are 27 weeks pregnant with a sweet baby boy we decided to name Sullivan Thomas.

After 6.5 years and 3 deployments with the Air Force my husband became a civilian on December 6th 2011. It’s been a roller coaster of mixed emotions and 5 months later we are still adjusting to live outside the military.

Follow along as we continue to adjust to civilian life while raising a princess and welcoming our handsome prince into this world.
